PayJoy works in emerging markets across the globe

Bill is PayJoy's Chief Financial Officer. He is responsible for all of PayJoy's financial teams and functions. Bill brings over 25 years of financial and operating experience to PayJoy. Prior to PayJoy, Bill was Chief Financial Officer and Co-President of Reach Financial, where he started as its first employee and helped to grow the company to over $1 billion in consumer loan originations. Prior to Reach, Bill held senior roles at investment banks where he specialized in coverage of specialty finance companies and banks. Bill obtained his B.A. in Economics from Columbia University.

Denisse is PayJoy’s General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer, primarily focusing on building and expanding the global legal and compliance organization. Denisse brings over 20 years of international corporate legal experience offering trusted legal and strategic advice on commercial and compliance aspects in multiple industries. Previously, she worked leading a corporate compliance reform in Peru and with Western Union as Associate General Counsel for the Americas, where she was responsible for the legal and regulatory strategy for 52 countries. Originally from Peru, Denisse is passionate about how PayJoy’s mission of bringing finance to similar markets can positively impact and change lives, one at the a time. Denisse holds a LL.M. from the George Washington University and a J.D. from Universidad de Lima. She is fluent in Spanish and English.

Irene is PayJoy`s Head of People, overseeing strategic people initiatives, the employee journey and cultivating a great organizational culture. Irene started her career as a generalist and has progressed over 15 years to lead the People function. She brings experience from both multinational and technology companies to support PayJoy´s mission and employee experience. Irene holds a Master's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a business degree from Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City.

Brad Pennington is PayJoy’s President of Financial Services. He is responsible for PayJoy’s Risk and Data functions. Prior to joining PayJoy Brad was Prosper’s CRO and built the Risk and Data Science organization as the company scaled from $20MM to $220MM in annual revenue. Prior to moving to San Francisco Brad was a Risk Management consultant at Moody’s Analytics in New York where he led a team that built quantitative models for governmental organizations and large commercial banks across the globe. Brad obtained his B.S. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he also obtained minors in Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, and Finance.

Nick Zakrasek is PayJoy’s President of Product Development, overseeing all product & engineering efforts. Over the last decade, he’s led globally scaled teams building novel technologies and consumer tech products addressing many of the world’s greatest societal needs, including economic opportunity, sustainability, election integrity, health, disaster preparation, and education. He holds an MBA from Stanford and bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and East Asian Studies from Brown University.

Gib Lopez supports operations and sales for PayJoy. Gib began his career in strategy consulting for the private sector before shifting his focus to underserved communities to work in global development and global health with TechnoServe, the Camber Collective, and Dalberg Global Development Advisors. Over this time, Gib worked with developing and developed country governments, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and for profit enterprises across the US, Central America, Africa, Europe, and Asia . Along the way, Gib obtained his MBA at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business where he focused on social enterprises and developing economies.

On a mission to deliver access to credit to the next billion people. Deepak Murthy is PayJoy’s global President, working with founders, Mark and Gib, to lead all our external business development, sales, operations, and scaling. Deepak ran international expansion for Box and also built the largest business unit that focused on their partnership with IBM. Prior to Box, he was a Principal at BCG, where he spent several years serving large technology clients across the US, India, and Indonesia. Deepak holds an MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management and an MS, Computer Engineering from the University of Kansas.
